Colin Threadgill, Possession of a Handcrafted Weapon, West Virginia 2019
In a shocking turn of events, a federal inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) at McDowell has been caught with a handcrafted weapon.
According to sources, Colin Threadgill, 27, was observed by prison staff to be in possession of a 'shank' on August 10. The weapon was recovered from him.
Threadgill faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison when he is sentenced on April 2, 2019.
United States Attorney Mike Stuart was quick to comment on the incident, saying, 'Another shank, another federal inmate must want to extend his stay at an FCI.'
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, with Assistant United States Attorney John File handling the prosecution.
United States Magistrate Judge Omar Aboulhosn presided at the plea hearing.
