Macy Man Sentenced to 37 Months for Assault
A brutal assault in a Nebraska bar left a woman with a severely lacerated lip. Conrad D. Lyons, Jr. was sentenced to 37 months in prison for his role in the crime.
Lyons, a 24-year-old resident of Macy, Nebraska, was convicted of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, according to a recent court filing. The crime occurred on August 3, 2012, at a bar in Walthill, Nebraska.
According to the court documents, Lyons was involved in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend, who is also the mother of his children. After being removed from the bar, Lyons approached his girlfriend and struck her in the face with both his fists and a full beer can. The force of the beer can split her lip vertically to the base of her nose.
The assault continued until the Omaha Tribal Police Department arrived and intervened. Lyons also struck a witness who attempted to intervene.
Lyons was on supervised release at the time of the assault, having recently been released from federal prison for assaulting a federal officer in August 2012.
After his release from prison, Lyons will be on a 3-year term of supervised release. The Honorable Laurie Smith Camp, Chief Judge, imposed the 37-month sentence.
