Methamphetamine Trafficking Case Rocks Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

A 39-year-old Eau Claire man has been sentenced to 110 months in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Wisconsin.

COREY HOBBS, 39, was arrested on December 31, 2023, after selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant on three occasions in November and December 2023. On December 6, 2023, Hobbs sold 261.09 grams of methamphetamine to the informant, the largest buy of the three.

During the arrest, officers found $10,610 in cash on Hobbs and in his vehicle.

At the sentencing hearing, Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson highlighted Hobbs's lengthy criminal history, stating it demonstrated a 'sustained pattern of drug dealing.'

The charges against Hobbs stemmed from an investigation by the West Central Wisconsin Drug Task Force, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department, and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jennifer Remington and Colleen Lennon prosecuted the case.
