Cory Matthews Charged with Sexual Exploitation and Child Pornography

A shocking case of child abuse has come to light in New York as Cory Matthews, 38, of Kent, New York, has been arrested and charged with sexual exploitation of a child and receipt and distribution of child pornography.

According to court documents, Matthews was taken into federal custody on April 22, 2026, and presented before U.S. Magistrate Judge Andrew E. Krause in White Plains federal court. He is currently being detained.

The charges against Matthews stem from a search of his residence in Putnam County, where a cellphone was seized. A search of the phone revealed chats on a social media application between Matthews and Beth Saiers, also known as Beth Young, on April 14, 2026. In the course of the chats, Matthews transmitted an image of an infant to Saiers, who responded with a request to engage in a sex act with the infant.

Matthews is charged with sexual exploitation of a child, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison; and receipt and distribution of child pornography, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

The FBI, Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Putnam County District Attorney's Office, Putnam County Child Advocacy Center Team, and Putnam County Department of Social Services were all involved in the investigation.
