Appleton Man Indicted on Firearm and Methamphetamine Charges

A 42-year-old man from Appleton, Wisconsin has been indicted on federal charges related to firearm and methamphetamine possession. According to a report by the U.S. Attorney's office in the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Craig R. Webb is accused of possessing over 50 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute the controlled substance while in possession of a firearm.

The indictment, which was issued on October 10, 2018, alleges that Webb violated Title 18, U.S. Code, Section 924(c). If convicted, Webb faces a mandatory 15-year prison sentence and up to a life sentence.

The case was investigated by the Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office. It will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel R. Humble.

Craig R. Webb is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The indictment is a result of the federal, state, and local law enforcement collaboration known as Project Safe Neighborhoods, which aims to identify, investigate, and prosecute individuals responsible for violent crimes in neighborhoods.
