Craig S. Coffee, Distribution of Heroin – Aiding and Abetting, West Virginia 2015
Craig S. Coffee, a 48-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, has admitted to his role in a multi-state heroin trafficking operation.
Coffee, also known as 'Mack,' sold heroin in May 2015 in Monongalia County, West Virginia. He pled guilty today to 'Distribution of Heroin – Aiding and Abetting.'
The heroin trafficking operation involved a group of Detroit residents who traveled to Morgantown and conspired to transport heroin across state lines for redistribution and sale throughout North Central West Virginia.
Coffee faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000.
His actual sentence will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and his prior criminal history, if any, according to the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
The Mon Metro Drug and Violent Crime Task Force investigated the case.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the hearing.
Coffee is scheduled to be sentenced at a later date. He remains in custody pending sentencing.
