Curtis D. Jochim, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, North Dakota 2013

BISMARCK - A local man has been sentenced to federal prison for an assault that occurred in 2012. Curtis D. Jochim, 26, of Selfridge, North Dakota, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Daniel L. Hovland for assault with a dangerous weapon. Jochim pleaded guilty to the charge on March 18, 2013.

On July 5, 2012, Jochim assaulted a man using his teeth, a hammer, and a broom. The victim required medical attention for his injuries.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs - Standing Rock Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Delorme prosecuted the case.

Jochim was sentenced to serve one year and nine months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim's Fund.

The assault occurred in Selfridge, North Dakota, on July 5, 2012. Jochim was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. He pleaded guilty to the charge on March 18, 2013.
