Cyril Swan, Methamphetamine Trafficking, New York 2024

A Syracuse man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing and possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Cyril Swan, age 30, was sentenced to 120 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation in Syracuse, New York. The sentencing took place in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.

As part of his plea agreement, Swan admitted to selling methamphetamine and fentanyl to another individual during the summer of 2024. During the offense, he sold approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine and 8 grams of fentanyl.

The investigation into Swan's activities was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) with assistance from the Syracuse Police Department Criminal Intelligence Division and the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica N. Carbone prosecuted the case.

Acting U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III praised the efforts of the ATF and its partners in bringing Swan to justice. 'Peddling dangerous drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine in this District will not be tolerated,' he said.

ATF Special Agent in Charge Bryan DiGirolamo also commended the work of his agency and its partners in the case. 'This sentence reflects the strong, coordinated work of ATF NY and our partners in Syracuse,' he said.
