Daijahn Antwan Reed, 22, Sentenced to 11 Years for Armed Pharmacy Robbery in Jefferson City, MO
A federal court in Jefferson City, Missouri, has sentenced Daijahn Antwan Reed, 22, to 11 years and three months in federal prison without parole for his role in the armed robbery of a Walgreens pharmacy in Jefferson City, Missouri.
On August 17, 2021, Reed pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, according to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
The armed robbery occurred on July 25, 2018, at the Walgreens pharmacy located at 2002 Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City, Missouri. Reed and three co-conspirators, Jerome Scott King and Raymond Allen Craig, entered the pharmacy wearing medical masks and gloves and brandished firearms, threatening the store clerk and pharmacist.
As part of the robbery, the thieves stole more than 4,000 tablets of various controlled substances, valued at $9,264. The stolen vehicle was pursued by law enforcement officers, who eventually deployed spike strips and apprehended King and Craig. Reed was arrested at a residence in Jefferson City after knocking on a witness's door and admitting to his involvement in the robbery.
Reed's co-defendants, Jerome Scott King and Raymond Allen Craig, were previously sentenced to 14 years and 11 years and three months in federal prison without parole, respectively. A fourth participant in the crime remains unidentified.
The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Heather D. Richenberger and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Lynn. It was investigated by the Jefferson City Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
