Felonious thievery has hit the trails of Kings Canyon National Park. Dallas Fonseca, 43, of Visalia, is facing felony theft charges after allegedly stealing over $16,000 worth of jewelry from a colleague between February 9th and March 11th.

According to court documents, Fonseca, who worked in the park's John Muir Lodge, brazenly pilfered a Rolex and other jewelry belonging to another park employee. The estimated value of the stolen goods stands at a staggering $16,000.

The case is the product of an investigation by the National Park Service. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mark McKeon and Joseph Barton are prosecuting the case, seeking to bring Fonseca to justice for his alleged crimes.
