Daniel Baldwin, Child Pornography Possession, New Jersey 2023
CAMDEN, N.J. - In a disturbing case of repeated child exploitation, Daniel Baldwin, a 33-year-old federal inmate, has been sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison for possessing hundreds of images and videos of child pornography while serving his prior conviction.
According to court documents and statements made in court, Baldwin was found in possession of the illicit materials in June 2022 while serving his sentence at a federal correctional institution in New Jersey. Corrections officers discovered a SD card hidden in his clothing, which contained the disturbing content, including depictions of prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
As a result of this new conviction, Baldwin was sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison by U.S. District Judge Karen M. Williams. In addition to the prison term, the judge also imposed a 7-year period of supervised release.
Baldwin had previously pleaded guilty to an information charging him with one count of possession of child pornography. His original conviction, which led to a 10-year prison sentence, occurred in 2018. It appears that despite serving time for this crime, Baldwin continued to engage in the same reprehensible behavior.
Speaking on the matter, Acting U.S. Attorney Vikas Khanna credited special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the leadership of Special Agent in Charge Brian J. Driscoll, with the investigation leading to today's sentencing. The FCI Fort Dix staff were also thanked for their assistance in the investigation.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel A. Friedman of the U.S. Attorney's Office's Criminal Division in Camden.
