Daniel Lamar Young, Felon in Possession of Firearm, North Carolina 2020

A Goldsboro man has been sentenced to 60 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Daniel Lamar Young, 26, possessed two firearms on March 26, 2019, in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

The firearms, both loaded and stolen, were found during an investigation by the Goldsboro Police Department. Young had multiple prior felony convictions and was on post-release supervision at the time of the offense.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lucy Brown. U.S. District Judge Richard E. Myers II presided over the sentencing hearing.

Young's possession of the firearms and ammunition was in clear violation of federal law. As a convicted felon, he was prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition.
