A Delhi man has been found guilty of receiving child pornography in a shocking case that has sent shockwaves through the community. Daniel Lee Brown, 28, of Delhi, Louisiana, pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography before U.S. District Judge Robert G. James on Monday.

According to evidence presented at the guilty plea, Brown used the internet and Facebook to pretend to be a teenager and directed a 12-year-old child from out of state to produce and send him child pornography. The child pornography was received by Brown using his computer in Delhi on October 28, 2014.

Brown faces a possible sentence of five to 20 years in prison, five years to life of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. He also faces forfeiture of the equipment used to store the child pornography and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

A sentencing date of December 5, 2016, has been set for Brown. This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security/Homeland Security Investigations, the Louisiana State Police, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Bossier City Marshal’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert W. Gillespie Jr. is prosecuting the case. The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
