Heroin Dealers' Downfall: Jacksonville Men Sentenced to Federal Prison

In a joint operation between the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Florida Highway Patrol, two notorious heroin dealers were brought to justice. Darrell Bryant, 48, and Roshawn Anderson, 34, were each sentenced to six years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute heroin.

According to court documents, on August 31, 2016, Bryant and Anderson were stopped by troopers on Norwood Avenue, near I-95, while attempting to deliver nearly a kilogram of heroin to an individual in Jacksonville. Anderson attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by troopers, who found approximately one kilogram of heroin hidden on his person.

The investigation revealed that Bryant and Anderson had arranged the deal locally, with Bryant brokering the sale and Anderson transporting the heroin from Georgia. This brazen attempt at heroin trafficking was ultimately foiled by the joint efforts of law enforcement agencies.

As part of their plea agreements, Bryant pleaded guilty on December 13, 2016, and Anderson pleaded guilty on January 24, 2017. The sentencing of these two men serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of drug trafficking in our communities.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank Talbot.

In related news, the sentencing of Bryant and Anderson marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against heroin trafficking in Northeast Florida.
