Darryl K. Green, Human Trafficking, Child Pornography, Wisconsin 2020

Published December 2, 2020

A Green Bay man has been hit with serious charges after allegedly attempting to entice a minor to engage in a commercial sex act.

Darryl K. Green, 53, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, was indicted on two counts of human trafficking and production of child pornography, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

The indictment alleges that Green attempted to entice a minor to engage in a commercial sex act, contrary to Title 18, United States Code, Section 1591(a)(1), (b)(2), and (c). Additionally, it alleges that he used that same minor to produce a pornographic image of the child, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2251(a).

If convicted of the child pornography charge, Green faces a mandatory 15 years' imprisonment and up to 30 years' imprisonment. He would also be required to register as a sex offender. The human trafficking charge carries a mandatory ten years' imprisonment and up to a lifetime of incarceration.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006, by the U.S. Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys' Offices and the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

This case was investigated by the Green Bay Police Department, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Green Bay office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Erica J. Lounsberry and Daniel R. Humble.

The defendant's real full name is Darryl K. Green, and the exact criminal charges are human trafficking and production of child pornography. The city and state involved are Green Bay, Wisconsin. The exact date is December 1, 2020, when the indictment was returned. The sentence or outcome is pending, but the defendant faces serious prison time if convicted.
