Daryl Jay Dickson, Firearms Offense, New Mexico 2023
Daryl Jay Dickson, 37 years old, of Zuni, New Mexico, is facing serious charges for allegedly being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
According to court documents, Dickson possessed a firearm and ammunition knowing he was previously convicted in New Mexico state court of a felony offense. Dickson was also prohibited from possessing a firearm and ammunition because he was an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance.
The Zuni Police Department, with the assistance of Zuni Fish and Wildlife and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, investigated the case.
Dickson will remain in custody pending a detention hearing set for Monday, September 18, 2023.
An indictment is only an allegation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. If convicted, Dickson faces up to 10 years imprisonment and up to three years of supervised release thereafter.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zachary C. Jones is prosecuting the case.
Dickson, an enrolled member of the Zuni Pueblo, is currently in custody.
