A Rapid City man has been sentenced to prison time after attempting to escape from custody in August 2017.

According to authorities, 25-year-old Daryl Plumman was sentenced to 4 months in custody by Chief Judge Jeffrey L. Viken, U.S. District Court, on March 7, 2018.

Plumman was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

The incident occurred on August 17, 2017, when Plumman attempted to escape from the custody of the Bureau of Prisons at the Community Education Centers, previously known as Community Alternatives of the Black Hills.
