Daryl Vandermark, Conspiracy to Import Alpha-PVP, New York 2015

A 45-year-old Amherst man has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for his role in a conspiracy to import Alpha-PVP into the United States, according to officials.

Buffalo, NY - Daryl Vandermark, a resident of Amherst, was convicted of conspiracy to import Alpha-PVP into the United States from China in July 2015, according to Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. Vandermark and his co-defendant, Judi Strong, ordered the substance online and had it shipped to Strong's residence in Amherst via FedEx Express Mail.

The packages, which contained approximately 178 grams of Alpha-PVP, were intercepted by federal law enforcement officers and a controlled delivery was performed to Strong's residence. Strong accepted the packages, resulting in the duo's arrest and subsequent prosecution.

Strong was also convicted and sentenced to 12 months in prison, mirroring Vandermark's sentence.

The investigation, led by Special Agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge James C. Spero, resulted in the sentencing.

Vandermark's sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of engaging in illicit activities involving controlled substances. The case highlights the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating the flow of Alpha-PVP into the United States.

The sentencing brings a close to the case against Vandermark and Strong, marking a significant victory in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Western New York.
