David Christopher Jensen, a 54-year-old resident of Steinhatchee, Florida, has been hit with a slew of federal charges.

Jensen, who allegedly distributed marijuana and cocaine, also possessed firearms and explosives, according to the indictment. The charges include two counts of distribution of marijuana, four counts of possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of a controlled substance, two counts of distribution of cocaine, one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana, one count of possession of an unregistered firearm, and one count of possession of an explosive by a convicted felon.

Jensen's alleged crimes come on the heels of a joint investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Taylor County Sheriff's Office.

According to Assistant United States Attorney Joseph A. Ravelo, Jensen appeared in federal court for his arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick in Tallahassee, Florida.

Jury trial is scheduled for April 6, 2026, at 8:15 am before District Court Judge Robert L. Hinkle in Tallahassee, Florida.

As the evidence unfolds, Jensen faces potentially severe penalties: up to 5 years' imprisonment on each count of distribution of marijuana; up to 15 years' imprisonment on each count of possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of a controlled substance; up to 20 years' imprisonment on each count of distribution of cocaine; up to 20 years' imprisonment on the count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana; up to 10 years' imprisonment on the count of possession of an unregistered firearm; and up to 10 years' imprisonment on the count of possession of an explosive by a convicted felon.
