Published June 14, 2026

Fayetteville, NC - In a shocking display of gang violence, two Hells Angels members were sentenced to lengthy prison terms for their roles in a brazen attempted murder. David Lee Woodall, 47, and Jason Lee Hathaway, 48, both pleaded guilty to Violent Crime in Aid of Racketeering (VICAR) attempted murder against their rivals, the Pagan Motorcycle Club (PMC).

According to court documents, the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) is a transnational violent outlaw motorcycle group that uses violence, threats, and intimidation to carry out its perceived mission and enforce its rules. The group has several support clubs, including the Red Devil Motorcycle Club (RDMC), which act as feeder clubs to recruit new members.

On July 22, 2023, Hathaway rode into a Dairy Queen in Cumberland County, North Carolina, and threatened three PMC members with a hammer. He attempted to strike one of them but ended up shattering a glass instead. The incident was just one example of the HAMC's violent tactics against their rivals.

Woodall and Hathaway were sentenced on June 10 and June 12, respectively, with Hathaway receiving 51 months in prison and Woodall getting 57 months. The harsh sentences reflect the gravity of their crimes and the need to hold gang members accountable for their actions.

The Hells Angels' violent activities have been a concern for law enforcement for years, and this case serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by these outlaw motorcycle clubs. As the investigation continues, it's clear that the Hells Angels will face justice for their crimes.
