David Little Wounded, Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, South Dakota 2019

A Dupree man has been sentenced to 40 months in federal prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine in South Dakota.

David Little Wounded, 36, was found guilty of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Roberto A. Lange on February 20, 2019.

According to court documents, Little Wounded personally distributed between 200 and 350 grams of methamphetamine in South Dakota, beginning in April of 2016 and continuing through January of 2018.

The conviction was the result of an investigation by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron J. Cook prosecuted the case.

In addition to his prison sentence, Little Wounded was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100. He was also sentenced to 4 years of supervised release.

Little Wounded was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
