David M. Follett, Child Pornography Distribution, Kansas 2023

A Kansas man has been sentenced to 126 months in prison for distributing child sexual abuse materials.

According to court documents, David M. Follett, 38, of El Dorado, Kansas, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography on multiple occasions.

Follett used his computer to share child pornography with other users on a peer-to-peer filesharing network. Among the recipients was an agent from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

While executing a search warrant at Follett's home, agents found evidence of child pornography activities on Follett's laptop.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart prosecuted the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006.

David M. Follett, the defendant, will spend 126 months in prison for distributing child pornography.

This case is a reminder of the importance of combating child exploitation and abuse through federal, state, and local efforts.
