David Moe, Distribution of Child Pornography, Colorado 2013

A former preschool teacher in Colorado has pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography.

David Moe, 46, of Denver, appeared in court on September 10, 2013 and entered a guilty plea to one count of distribution of child pornography.

According to court documents, Moe offered a child pornography file for distribution on a peer-to-peer file sharing program in May 2012. An undercover detective was able to connect to Moe's computer and the file was placed in queue, but the download was terminated before it could be completed.

A federal search warrant was executed on July 24, 2012 at Moe's residence, and agents seized items containing child pornography, including two desktop computers, external hard drives, and 383 CDs and DVDs.

A forensic examination of Moe's computers and computer media revealed that he possessed at least 800,000 child pornography/erotica images and over 13,000 child pornography/erotica videos, including videos and images of children as young as toddlers.

Moe's child pornography collection was well organized and archived, and he had been distributing and receiving child pornography since at least 2007. The examination also revealed that Moe possessed child pornography for at least 10 years.
