Bank robber David Shearod, 45, of New Orleans, has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for his role in a string of bank robberies and an attempted post office robbery. According to court documents, Shearod entered Liberty Bank in New Orleans on October 22, 2015, and demanded $1,697 from a teller. He also robbed Regions Bank on December 1, 2015, of $1,400, and Winn Dixie on December 5, 2015, of $2,173. Additionally, Shearod attempted to rob the United States Post Office on December 10, 2015, and robbed First Bank and Trust on December 11, 2015, of $2,600. His last robbery occurred on December 13, 2015, at a Walgreens in New Orleans, where he demanded $200.

Shearod's crimes were investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Orleans Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Brittany L. Reed prosecuted the case.
