David Weaver, Distribution of Methamphetamine, West Virginia 2017

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A local man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution operation.

David Weaver, 34, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, was found guilty of 'Distribution of Methamphetamine within 1000 Feet of a Protected Location' in March 2019. Weaver admitted to selling methamphetamine near Washington Irving Middle School in Harrison County in October 2017.

Weaver's sentence serves as a warning to those involved in the distribution of illicit substances. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Greater Harrison Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.

The investigation was funded in part by the federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program (OCDETF). The OCDETF program supplies critical federal funding and coordination that allows federal and state agencies to work together to successfully identify, investigate, and prosecute major interstate and international drug trafficking organizations and other criminal enterprises.

U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley prosecuted on behalf of the government.

Weaver's involvement in the methamphetamine distribution operation has been brought to a close, and he will now face the consequences of his actions. The people of Harrison County can rest assured that those who engage in such activities will be held accountable.
