Davion Lashaun Trawick, Possession of a Firearm, Iowa 2025
A 26-year-old Chicago man was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for again possessing a firearm.
Davion Lashaun Trawick, age 26, received the prison term after a December 8, 2025, guilty plea to possession of a firearm as a felon.
In August 2025, Dubuque police responded to a 911 call and found that Trawick, along with co-defendant Donta Euells and another man, had forced their way into a home. The victims reported that Trawick pointed his firearm at them, including a minor child.
Trawick was previously convicted in the Northern District of Iowa in 2019 for illegally possessing a firearm as a drug user.
He must also serve a three-year term of supervised release after the prison term.
Trawick is being held in the United States Marshal's custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nicole L. Nagin and investigated by the Dubuque Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that targets violent crime and protects communities from its perpetrators.
Trawick was sentenced in Cedar Rapids by United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams to 144 months' imprisonment.
