Tulsa, Oklahoma - In a shocking display of brazen criminal activity, Deangelo LaShawn Favors, a 48-year-old prior felon, has been sentenced to 360 months in prison for possessing a spent military rocket launcher, large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and firearms, announced U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
The U.S. District Court in Tulsa handed down the sentence on an unspecified date, following a lengthy investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies. Favors was found guilty of six felony charges, including Felon in Possession of Firearms; Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Firearms in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking; and Maintaining a Drug-Involved Premises.
According to court records, Favors has a history of felony convictions, including aggravated assault, illegal drug and firearm possession in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. His latest offense was uncovered in 2024, when agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics received a tip that Favors was storing bulk quantities of fentanyl in Tulsa. A tracker was placed on Favors' vehicle, leading agents to his apartment and storage unit, where they discovered the shocking array of illicit items.
The investigation, which involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics, the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Division of Drug Enforcement, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Tulsa Field Office, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration Tulsa Resident Office, resulted in the seizure of over 1.9 pounds of fentanyl, more than 4.4 pounds of cocaine, and over 14 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as a spent military rocket launcher and several firearms.
Favors will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, where he will serve his 360-month sentence, followed by five years of supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tyson McCoy prosecuted the case.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of narcotics trafficking and the importance of law enforcement collaboration in combating this pervasive threat to public safety.
