Deangelo Montrel Lamont Simmons and Raynard Dewayne Williams Charged with Cocaine Conspiracy
A federal grand jury in Columbia recently returned a one-count indictment against Deangelo Montrel Lamont Simmons, 31, of Moncks Corner and Raynard Dewayne Williams, 36, of North Charleston for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.
Both Deangelo Montrel Lamont Simmons and Raynard Dewayne Williams face a maximum penalty of 25 years imprisonment and a maximum fine of $20,000,000. Both are currently detained pending trial.
The case was investigated by agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the North Charleston Police Department, the City of Charleston Police Department, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, the Goose Creek Police Department, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), the Summerville Police Department, and the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
U.S. Attorney Adair F. Boroughs stated that all charges in the indictment are merely accusations and that defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Deangelo Montrel Lamont Simmons, a 31-year-old resident of Moncks Corner, and Raynard Dewayne Williams, a 36-year-old resident of North Charleston, have been detained pending trial after being charged with cocaine conspiracy. The two men face up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000,000.
