In a shocking turn of events, Derrick Withers, a 32-year-old resident of Chicago, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for his role in a violent crime that shook the community in 2017.

On May 30, 2017, Withers was charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and attempted murder in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (ILND Federal District). The charges stemmed from a series of brutal attacks on convenience store owners and customers in the South Side of Chicago.
