Deshawn Trent, Methamphetamine Possession, Nebraska 2018

A federal conviction has landed a Nebraska man in prison for over six years. Deshawn Trent, 81 months, to be served in the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

On November 13, 2018, United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr., sentenced Trent to a term of imprisonment of 81 months.

Trent pleaded guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, a felony offense.

The conviction stems from a motel room search conducted by the Omaha Police Department on August 9, 2017. Narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at a motel room where Trent was staying in Omaha, Nebraska.

Trent was present and was arrested after officers recovered more than 300 grams of methamphetamine from the room.

This case was initially investigated by the Omaha Police Department, with assistance from the Omaha Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Trent's prison sentence will be served at a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility, with the exact location to be determined.

The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the Omaha area.
