Diontai L. Moore, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Pennsylvania 2013

A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted a local man on a charge of violating federal firearms laws.

Diontai L. Moore, 30, of Pittsburgh, was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm on August 25, 2013.

According to the indictment, Moore, a convicted felon, illegally possessed a FEG, model PA-63, 9mm short caliber pistol.

Moore's conviction prohibits him from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law, which carries a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison to a maximum of life, a fine of $250,000, or both.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police conducted the investigation leading to the indictment of Moore.

Assistant United States Attorney Barbara K. Doolittle is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

An indictment is an accusation. Moore is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
