Donnie Woods, Fentanyl Distribution Conspiracy, Pennsylvania 2021
A Pennsylvania federal court has sentenced a California man to 97 months in prison for his role in a fentanyl distribution conspiracy in Central Pennsylvania.
Donnie Woods, 45, of Northridge, California, was sentenced by United States District Judge Keli M. Neary for conspiring to distribute fentanyl. The crime dates back to July 2020 through at least April 2021.
According to the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Woods admitted to conspiring with others to distribute substantial quantities of fentanyl in the region. In April 2021, law enforcement in Pennsylvania seized two packages sent by Woods from California to a residence in York, Pennsylvania, containing nearly four kilograms of fentanyl.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Carlo D. Marchioli prosecuted the case.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the government to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from violent crime.
Woods was also brought up on charges as part of a district-wide initiative to combat the nationwide epidemic of heroin use and distribution. The Heroin Initiative targets heroin traffickers operating in the Middle District of Pennsylvania and is part of a coordinated effort among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
