Douglas Charles Knicely, Methamphetamine Distribution, West Virginia 2018
A West Virginia man has admitted to his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution operation in Monongalia County.
According to local authorities, Douglas Charles Knicely, 37, of Jane Lew, West Virginia, pled guilty to one count of 'Conspiracy to Possess with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.'
The crime occurred in October 2018, and Knicely faces a minimum of 10 years and up to life incarceration, as well as a fine of up to $10,000,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Mon Metro Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Morgantown Police Department investigated.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the case.
Knicely's exact sentence will be determined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, taking into account the seriousness of the offenses and his prior criminal history, if any.
