Federal Court Sentences Two for Methamphetamine Distribution, Wyoming Man for Firearm Possession
A Fort Collins, Colorado man has been sentenced for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring operating in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Douglass Gurney Wood, Jr., 53, was arrested in Cheyenne and subsequently sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson.
Wood conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine in the Cheyenne area. He was also found to be a felon in possession of a firearm. On December 8, 2016, Wood received a 180-month prison sentence, to be followed by five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $200.00 special assessment and $2,000.00 in restitution.
The Cheyenne Police Department investigated the case, which involved the distribution of methamphetamine in the Cheyenne area. Wood's arrest and subsequent sentencing are a major blow to the operation, which had been impacting the community.
