Doyle Lee Lafavor, Jerry Eugene Teafatiller, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Oklahoma 2023

Two McIntosh County residents have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in a methamphetamine trafficking ring operating in the area.

Doyle Lee Lafavor, 53, and Jerry Eugene Teafatiller, 40, both of Checotah, Oklahoma, were sentenced in federal court for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Lafavor was sentenced to 84 months in prison, while Teafatiller was sentenced to 60 months. The sentences were handed down by the Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The charges against Lafavor and Teafatiller arose from an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office, and the District 25 District Attorney's Office Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.

On April 17, 2023, law enforcement stopped a vehicle occupied by Lafavor and Teafatiller and found approximately 430 grams of methamphetamine in a large plastic bag on the backseat floorboard and over 30 grams of methamphetamine on the center console.

Lafavor and Teafatiller pleaded guilty to the charges on October 12, 2023, and October 11, 2023, respectively. They will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve their sentences.
