Newark Physician Sentenced to 21 Years in Federal Prison for Child Exploitation Offenses

Rochester, N.Y. - Dr. David Blasczak, 70, of Newark, N.Y., was sentenced to serve 262 months in prison for child exploitation offenses.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, between September 1, 2015, and January 18, 2018, Blasczak subscribed to a website from his home that offered child pornography for purchase. He created an account and purchased images and videos of child pornography that were emailed to him.

Blasczak admitted to possessing approximately 2557 images and 78 videos depicting child pornography. In addition, he admitted to hosting slumber parties at his home, which were attended by minor females between the ages of seven and 12, and engaging in sexual contact with them on several occasions.

Blasczak also admitted to stealing children's underwear from various places for his sexual gratification and taking nude photographs of the genitals of multiple minor female patients at his medical office, representing to parents that the photographs were needed for a 'study.'

U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy stated, 'The defendant occupied one of the greatest positions of trust in our society. He betrayed that trust by hurting children rather than healing them.'

Blasczak was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa.
