Dr. David Edward Nowak, Child Pornography, Florida 2019
A Delray Beach doctor has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in a child pornography case.
Dr. David Edward Nowak, 42, previously pled guilty to receipt of child pornography, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252(a)(2), and possession of child pornography, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252(a)(4)(B).
The crimes took place from 2015 through 2019, during which time Nowak accessed peer-to-peer networks to obtain images and videos of child pornography, including pre-pubescent children engaged in forced sexual acts.
On September 17, 2019, U.S. District Judge Roy K. Altman sentenced Nowak to 9 years in prison, to be followed by 20 years of supervised release.
In addition to his prison sentence, Nowak was ordered to pay $100,000 in restitution to the victims.
U.S. Attorney Ariana Fajardo Orshan commended the investigative efforts of the FBI in this matter.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
