Winnebago Man Sentenced to 30 Months for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender

A 32-year-old man from Winnebago, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender. Duane L. Levering, 32, was found guilty of not registering with the Winnebago Tribe or the State of Nebraska.

Levering was previously convicted of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor in 2005 and served an 87-month sentence. He was also convicted of failing to register as a sex offender in 2013 and served an 18-month term.

According to court documents, Levering registered as a sex offender in Sioux City, Iowa, in January 2017, but listed a non-existent address. He was later found to be living in Winnebago, Nebraska, without properly registering.
