A Manassas, Virginia man has been accused of producing child pornography.

Dwayne Stinson, 52, has been indicted on five counts of producing child pornography of prepubescent minors, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

According to the indictment, Stinson coerced minors into engaging in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing pornographic images on at least five separate occasions.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006.

Stinson is being prosecuted by Trial Attorney James E. Burke IV of the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the Justice Department's Criminal Division and Assistant U.S. Attorney Whitney Russell of the Eastern District of Virginia.

The indictment is merely an accusation and Stinson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
