Edgar Yellow Earrings, Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child, South Dakota 2014

A Bullhead man has been charged with a heinous crime that will send shockwaves through the small community. Edgar Yellow Earrings, 51, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child.

The charge stems from an allegation that between March 7, 2001, and July 21, 2003, in Bullhead, Yellow Earrings engaged in a sexual act with a child under the age of twelve. This is a despicable act that can have long-lasting effects on the victim and their loved ones.

Yellow Earrings appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge William D. Gerdes on October 31, 2014, and pled not guilty to the Indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is up to life in custody and/or a $250,000 fine, 5 years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
