Edward Walker, Production of Child Pornography, Connecticut 2019

Published June 30, 2021

A new federal indictment has been unsealed in connection with a disturbing child pornography case out of New Haven, Connecticut. Edward Walker, a 48-year-old New Haven man, has been charged with two counts of production of child pornography.

According to the indictment, in June and July 2019, Walker knowingly employed, used, persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing two videos of that conduct.

Walker is currently in federal custody awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges in the Southern District of Florida. If convicted of the new charges in the District of Connecticut, Walker faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of 30 years, on each count.

Acting U.S. Attorney Leonard C. Boyle stressed that an indictment is not evidence of guilt. Charges are only allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

This matter is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Angel M. Krull.

Walker is expected to face justice in a Connecticut courtroom, where he will have the opportunity to defend himself against these serious allegations. The FBI and federal prosecutors will work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served in this case.

The production of child pornography is a heinous crime that inflicts irreparable harm on its victims. We urge anyone with information about this case to come forward and help bring Walker to justice.
