Eladio Arguelles, Possession With Intent To Distribute Cocaine, Oklahoma 2014
A federal indictment has charged Eladio Arguelles, 26, of El Paso, Texas, with possession with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine.
The indictment alleges that Arguelles knowingly and intentionally possessed with the intent to distribute five kilograms or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Savanna Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Arguelles was arraigned in federal court in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on June 11, 2014, and was remanded into the custody of the United States Marshal Service.
The statutory range of punishment for Arguelles is not less than 10 years imprisonment and/or up to $10,000,000.00 in fines.
Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Wilson represented the United States in the case.
Arguelles is presumed innocent of the charges and may not be found guilty unless evidence establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
