Eric Cansler, Crack Cocaine Distribution, Pennsylvania 2019

A notorious crack cocaine distributor has been brought to justice after pleading guilty to federal charges in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Eric Cansler, 47, of Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to one count of violating the federal narcotics laws in United States District Court.

According to the court, Cansler conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine base.

The investigation, led by the FBI Greater Pittsburgh Safe Streets Task Force, targeted a large-scale Drug Trafficking Organization operating in Butler, Beaver, and Allegheny Counties.

The task force is comprised of dedicated law enforcement professionals from the Wilkinsburg Police Department, Pennsylvania Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics Investigations, Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, Allegheny County Police Department, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and the FBI.

Assistant United States Attorney Robert C. Schupansky is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

The prosecution is part of a long-term investigation by the FBI Greater Pittsburgh Safe Streets Task Force, which targeted a large-scale Drug Trafficking Organization operating in Butler, Beaver, and Allegheny Counties.

Judge Mark R. Hornak scheduled sentencing for April 4, 2019, at 3 p.m. The law provides for a total sentence of not more than 30 years in prison, a fine of not more than $2,000,000, or both.
