Tucson Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Child Sex Abuse

A 43-year-old Tucson man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in a child sex abuse case that dates back to the early 2000s. Eric David Marrufo, a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, was convicted of five counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child and one count of Abusive Sexual Contact With a Child.

The abuse occurred between August 1, 2006, and August 1, 2008, at Marrufo's home on the Pascua Yaqui Indian Reservation. A jury convicted Marrufo on August 19, 2022, after a lengthy trial. United States District Judge Cindy K. Jorgenson handed down the life sentence on [no date specified].
