Eric Garman, Distribution Of Sexually Explicit Images Of Minors, Pennsylvania 2021

In a shocking case of online exploitation, Eric Garman, a 32-year-old resident of Scranton, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 210 months' imprisonment for distributing sexually explicit images of minors.

The charges against Garman stem from a period between June and August 2019, during which he shared images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The case was brought to light after Garman pled guilty in June 2020 to the distribution charges.

On March 1, 2021, United States District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion handed down the sentence, which includes a 210-month term of imprisonment. In addition to the prison term, Garman will also serve a ten-year term of supervised release and comply with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).

The investigation into Garman's activities was carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Assistant United States Attorney Jeffery St John prosecuted the case.

Garman's case is part of the nationwide initiative, Project Safe Childhood, which was launched in May 2006 by the United States government to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, as well as identify and rescue victims.
