Okemah Resident Pleads Guilty to Federal Firearm Charge
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a shocking turn of events, Eric Jason Franklin, a 53-year-old resident of Okemah, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge.
According to court records, Franklin knowingly possessed a .410-gauge pump-action shotgun and 15 rounds of .410-gauge ammunition on July 15, 2024, after having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.
The charge, Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, carries a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. Franklin will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing.
