Eric Massey, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Georgia 2023
Savannah, GA - A 29-year-old Jacksonville, Florida man has been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl in the Southern District of Georgia.
According to court records, Eric Massey, 29, of Jacksonville, Florida, was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl, as well as possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods in collaboration with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the FBI.
U.S. Attorney Jill E. Steinberg stated, 'As a new year begins, we renew our determination to remove guns from the hands of those who are prohibited from possessing them.'
In the past five years, more than 800 defendants have been prosecuted in the Southern District of Georgia for firearms offenses.
The cases include:
- Eric Massey, 29, of Jacksonville, Florida, charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl, as well as possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Unique Haynes, 26, of Jacksonville, Florida, charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl, as well as possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Lynwood Forrest Burke, 60, of Dearing, Georgia, charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Those sentenced on federal firearms charges include:
- William Beau Devore, 21, of Martinez, Georgia, sentenced to 102 months in prison and fined $2,000 after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Zion Howard, 23, of Augusta, sentenced to 80 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Isaac Wilford Stewart, 24, of Augusta, sentenced to 37 months in prison and fined $1,500 after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Joquan K. Clark, 25, of Waynesboro, Georgia, sentenced to 30 months in prison and fined $1,500 after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Marquese Shavel Palmer, 30, of Collins, Georgia, sentenced to 46 months in prison and fined $1,500 after pleading guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Georgia State Patrol.
