Eric Vasquez-Gomez, Illegal Reentry, Alabama 2025

A Mexican national has been sentenced in Alabama for illegally re-entering the United States.

Eric Vasquez-Gomez, 24, of Mexico, was found to have illegally reentered the United States after prior removal, according to court documents.

Vasquez-Gomez was sentenced by a District Court Judge to the time he’s served since his arrest on September 8, 2025. After the sentence was announced, the Judge ordered that Vasquez-Gomez be delivered to a duly authorized immigration official for deportation consideration.

The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

U.S. Attorney Sean Costello of the Southern District of Alabama made the announcement.

The Department of Homeland Security investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tandice Blackwood prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.

Vasquez-Gomez’s exact criminal charges were not specified in the press release. However, it is clear that he was sentenced for illegally reentering the United States after prior removal.

According to the press release, Vasquez-Gomez was arrested on September 8, 2025. He was sentenced on October 31, 2025, to the time he’s served since his arrest.
