Erin Cameron, Fentanyl Trafficking, New York 2018
BUFFALO, NY - An armed drug trafficker from Buffalo will spend 11 years in prison for selling heroin and fentanyl.
U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Erin Cameron, 33, of Buffalo, was sentenced to serve 132 months in prison by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.
Cameron was convicted of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute, and distributing, 100 grams or more of heroin, and 10 grams or more of fentanyl, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, the court found.
During the conspiracy, Cameron supplied another co-conspirator with butyryl fentanyl for future sale, Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti stated. On October 22, 2018, investigators conducted a controlled purchase of suspected heroin or fentanyl from an associate of Cameron.
On December 30, 2018, Cameron drove with others from Buffalo to Salamanca, NY to distribute narcotics in and around the Salamanca area. The Salamanca Police stopped the vehicle in which Cameron was a passenger and recovered the firearm and the controlled substances on his person.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, the Southern Tier Drug Regional Task Force, under the direction of Chautauqua County Sheriff James Quattrone, the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarentino, New York Field Division, and the Salamanca Police Department, under the direction of Chief Jamie Deck.
