Ernie Andrews, Sexual Abuse of a Minor, Arizona 2020

A 34-year-old man from Keams Canyon, Arizona, has been sentenced to 53 months in prison for sexually abusing a minor on the Hopi Indian Reservation.

Ernie Andrews, 34, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Dominic W. Lanza on March 2, 2020, to 53 months of imprisonment, with credit for four months Andrews spent in tribal custody, to be followed by lifetime supervised release.

The crime took place on January 29, 2019, and Andrews previously pleaded guilty to one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs conducted the investigation in this case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Van Buskirk handled the prosecution.

Andrews will serve his 53-month prison sentence followed by lifetime supervised release, a significant penalty for the heinous crime he committed.
